“Otkrytie goda – 2003” contest will take place at the Fifth Kiev International Advertising Festival. Organizers of this contest are All-Ukrainian Advertising Coalition under information support of “Delovaya Stolitsa”.
“Otkrytie goda” is the attempt to make market more democratic and open. Advertising Coalition and “Delovaya Stolitsa” week-edition, which are initiators of this contest, by means of it want to attract attention to market changes, which don’t pass without notice. They also plan to pick out young and promising players.
In the issue of “Otkrytie goda” contest the company, which took up noticeable place (or even leading position) at the market during the first year of it’s development, will be determined. According to contest’s rules it must be a company, which works in the field of advertisement and media and opened at 2003. The first year is just the beginning step of development. At the same time this year’s result allow to see who will be a military vessel or a humble boat in the expanses of advertising business.
The contest consists of three stages. At the first stage the initial list of nominees will be formed and small resumes about them will be prepared. At the second stage information about nominees will be placed at the following sites: www.dsnews.com.ua, www.adfestival.com.ua, 2004.adfestival.com.ua for the ballot. All members of All-Ukrainian Advertising Coalition will be able to vote by awarding well-deserved place. At the third stage jury of the contest (only real members of the Coalition) will select companies which would have the greatest number of votes. In the case of vote equality the second ballot will take place (by Coalition’s decision).
During the ballot answers to the following questions will influence to the company’s mark: how company could influence to the market; if it could fill an empty niche or compete with already existing companies; if the company could audibly pronounce some new word at the market during such small period of time (means novel approach of the company). Personalities of company’s heads will be taken into acount (publisher, director, chief text-editor) or even if one of them. Of course while voting advertising and PR support under market achievment woun’t be forgotten.
Specialists from “ROKS”, the 5-th channel and “Monolog” have tested the quality of video and sound signals, that was a peculiar trial TV-bridge. In the aim of doing it broadcasting modulator was installed on the roof of the highest Pechersk building (not far from Cinema House) by “ROKS’” specialists. At the same time receiving device was installed on the 10-th floor of administrative building at Rybalskiy island. Thereby video-engineers from the 5-th channel were able to see Pechersk environs while seating at their control room. That was precisely one of the main condition of the agreement between organizers of the Festival and the channel. Konstantin Brizhan, Technical Director of the 5-th channel, believes that picture and sound quality and signal stability are quite good. Yesterday engineers of the channel challenged in some questions. But today everything looks optimistic and goes in a right way.
As informed before, TV-men from “Monolog” prepared one more innovation for Advertising Festival’s anniversary. That is real time production of small compact disk printing of multicellular recording of master class video-versions. The preparations for this action is at fool speed.
Original-models of disks are developed; special print device is tested for CD-medium painting; digital parameters are worked on for the formation of MP4-files (super-time video); special PO is created for the realization of efficient unvoiced connection between directors of master-class video-recording.
The special event is preparing in the work of the final party. The talk is about the Auction of rarities (that are the first instant compact disks in Ukraine). We won’t to discover all the secrets but some board lots are already known. For example, all ceremonies and master-classes of the Festival.
The VERBAL RING, which is cheerful and dynamic show in KVN’s warm-up format, will take place at KIAF for the first time.
Rules of participants:
several teams perform at the ring, that is they compete in verbal-marketing skill;
every team represents a real company, which works at Ukrainian advertising market;
the team consists of 3-5 persons, who are company’s employees;
the team is ready to answer in a quick, accurate and cheerful way other teams’ and audience’s questions.
Schedule of the RING:
teams’ presentation (3-5 minutes for each team);
answering each-other’s questions;
answering audience’s questions.
Questions could be both professional and unprofessional. Teams are expected to demonstrate themselves, their knowledge, their witty skills and speed of reaction.

The team of Adell Saatchi&Saatchi company has already confirmed its participation. The ring is still able to hold up to three participants. Those interested in taking part are invited to contact with organizational committee of the Festival.
