On April, 25th 2009 in PinchukArtCentre in Kiev the world's greatest retrospective show of Damien Hirst's works will open. An exhibition called "Requiem" will include 100 works of the well-known British, known as the most expensive artist of the present. The seven-metre sculpture "Temple" which will be established open-air in a court yard of the trading-entertaining centre «Arena City», near to the art centre will become one of the basic exhibits. Nearby in special pavilion two famous works of the artist - «Death Explanation» (the shark cut half in formaldehyde) and «Death Negation» (the whole shark) will be exposed.
Within "Requiem" the world premiere of new cycle Skull paintings which includes about 40 works created from 2006 till 2008 will take place. The exhibition will work till September, 20th.
We suggest KIAF's visitors to combine the pleasant with not less pleasant. This year the Festival will take place from May, 27 till May, 29th in the Kiev Cinema House. The weather is always wonderful in Kiev in the end of May. It will certainly be a pleasure for you to use a break in the sated festival program to walk to «Arena City» and after that, over a cup of coffee in the buffet of Cinema House, to discuss with colleagues major events not only in the advertising world, but also in the world of art. And even if the may rain falls, not only coffee can be bought in the buffet, and it takes not more then 10 minutes to get from the Cinema House to PinchukArtCentre by foot.
